Igbe Town: Residents’ Quarterly Pain Amidst Government Neglect

Igbe Town, nestled between the jurisdictions of Igbogbo Baiyeku and Ijede LCDA, finds itself in a perpetual cycle of frustration every three months. The absence of any tangible government projects has become a constant source of anguish for its residents. The only semblance of governance comes in the form of individuals masquerading as Lagos State officials from the Building and Safety Department, who roam the town with red and black paints, marking ongoing buildings. Despite their dubious claims, they manage to extract settlements from property owners, exacerbating the already dire situation.

As the rainy season looms, Igbe residents brace themselves for yet another bout of hardship. With no proper roads to navigate, the community is effectively isolated, further compounding their woes. The frustration has spilled over onto various WhatsApp platforms, where residents vent their grievances and amplify their collective outcry.

This weekend, our trending spotlight is on Igbe Town, as we delve into the voices behind the uproar, shedding light on the challenges faced by its residents and the urgent need for meaningful government intervention. Stay tuned for firsthand accounts and insights into the plight of Igbe’s populace.

From EKUNDAYO: It’s pathetic, painful and heartbreaking.

The exploitation and extortion is unbearable from the bus drivers, LAARA to ginti is motorable enough but despites, the bus driver still collect btw N800 – N1000.

Pls am calling the organizer on this platform never to relent to help us appeal to god’s, (Lagos state govt) if na sacrifice we go carry to pls look into our plight, this suffering is too much to the citizen that wholeheartedly voted for them.

The rain had just started and we never see anything, by the time rain started proper we would soon pay N1500 from LAARA to Benson.

Honestly speaking I don’t expect that this govt can abandoned this project and turned deft hear to all our cries .

Mr governor had showed to us that our cries is nothing to him, even if u decided to cry till Jesus come, sooner or later they will start calling the CDA’s to come for palliative .

The end will justify the means.

Dr Steve the great: Igbe Road is for campaigning for the next governor but they don’t know that we are wiser.

Lanjay bread:  it just too much politicians knows how to buy peoples mind by making them to forget or pause ltheir long time suffering which continuity is certain after the achievement of their obnoxious aims which is majorly pocket friendly
As they take us back to old National Anthem they should also go back to old national development goals ( good governance) such as free education , good and standard road unlike 6 months existing road ( substandard project ) . Inside trading strategy by politicians on national project
