His career in journalism began in 1985 at Concord Newspapers, where he held notable roles such as Group Political Editor, Sunday Concord Editor, and Editor of National Concord. His journalistic achievements include winning the prestigious US Alfred Friendly Press Fellowship.
Beyond journalism, Bello has also served in significant governmental capacities. He was previously the Secretary to the Lagos State Government and has held roles as Commissioner for the Environment in Lagos State across different administrations. Bello’s academic credentials include a Master’s degree in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos, where he also earned his Law degree and was subsequently called to the Nigerian Bar in 2002.
